This course offers a primer on comparative effectiveness research (CER) aimed at non-researchers, especially policy analysts. Course participants will gain an understanding of the history of CER, its definitions and terminology, and its application to clinical decisionmaking and health policymaking. Experts will present perspectives on the use of CER abroad and efforts to integrate CER into the U.S. health system.
